Projects and Initiatives

The Fredricksburg Iowa Community Economic Development Group is committed to supporting the long-term vitality of our local economy. Our projects and initiatives focus on strengthening existing businesses, creating opportunities for new investment, and improving the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Here is a snapshot of some of our projects. 

Business Support & Downtown Improvement

  • Assisted with signage and visibility improvements for local businesses, including:

    • The Meatery

    • Super Mercado

    • Dr. Anderson Chiropractic

    • The Cottage at Woodland Farm

    • Euphoria Coffee Shop

    • All Stop

    • The Office (signage in progress)

  • Supported business expansion and facilities development for Speltz Electric

  • Constructed the Nelson Machine building, now owned by Farmers Win Cooperative

  • Built what is now the Farmers Win Cooperative shop

Creating Opportunities for New Investment

  • Developed the FCDC Second Housing Addition, consisting of 7 residential lots

    • One lot sold and under construction

  • Established incentives to encourage new home construction on FCDC-owned lots

  • Advanced development of an industrial park, including:

    • A 1–3 acre frontage lot

    • Additional potential development space at the rear

  • Supported site and building development for new and expanding businesses

Improving Quality of Life

  • Led fundraising efforts and construction of a new medical clinic. The clinic is part of the UnityPoint Health System​

  • Recruited and retained area veterinary services, Fredericksburg Veterinary Clinic and Boarding

  • Recruited two chiropractors to the community, Anderson Chiropractic Clinic
